Dita Rietuma, Dr. Art., is a film historian, critic and director of the National Film Centre of Latvia. From 1993 to 2014 she was editor and film critic for Diena, Latvia's largest daily newspaper. Since 2007 she has taught at Rīga Stradiņš University as an Assistant Professor and is currently a Professor at the Latvian Academy of Culture. She is the author and co-author of six books on the history of world cinema. Since 2014 she has led the National Film Centre of Latvia, a government institution under the Ministry of Culture. She has been a member of the European Film Academy since 2014, represents Latvia in European Film Promotion and is a member of EFAD. In 1995 she founded the Latvian branch of FIPRESCI.
Dita Rietuma je filmska istoričarka i kritičarka i direktorica Nacionalnog filmskog centra Letonije. Od 1993. do 2014. bila je urednica i filmska kritičarka najvećeg letonskog dnevnog lista Diena. Od 2007. predaje na Univerzitetu Rīga Stradiņš, a trenutno je profesorica na Letonskoj akademiji kulture. Autorka je i koautorka šest knjiga o istoriji svjetskog filma. Od 2014. godine vodi Nacionalni filmski centar Letonije, državnu instituciju pri Ministarstvu kulture. Članica je Evropske filmske akademije od 2014, predstavlja Letoniju u organizaciji European Film Promotion i članica je EFAD-a. Godine 1995. osnovala je letonski ogranak FIPRESCI-ja.
