BIOGRAPHY
Has a career of more than 20 years in the international creative industries sector. He began his career at the French Embassy in Doha, Qatar as director of the French service of the National Radio and Television then at the French Embassy in South Africa as project manager. In 2006, he was appointed regional audiovisual attaché in Buenos Aires, for Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. In 2009, he was appointed to Los Ange- les where he was the Executive Director of the French Film & TV Office. From 2011 to 2014, he managed the international strategy of the National Audiovisual Institute (INA) as Head of international affairs. From 2014 to 2019, Mathieu Fournet was cultural and audiovisual attaché, in charge of cinema, audiovisual and creative industries at the French Embassy in the United States (New York). From 2019 to 2022, he joined the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée (CNC) in Paris where he was Director for European and international affairs. In 2022, he was appointed to the cabinet of Rima Abdul Malak, French Minister of Culture as diplomat- ic advisor and advisor for cinema. Since the beginning of 2024, he is Special Advisor to the President of CNC.
