The Film Centre of Montenegro is organising the third edition of the industry programme Montenegro Film Rendezvous, which from 22 August in Herceg Novi will bring together distinguished filmmakers and professionals, representatives of national film centres, European funds, festivals and leading organisations in the field of film and the audiovisual industry.
The international industry programme takes place within the 39th Herceg Novi Film Festival.
The programme will connect Montenegrin cinema with relevant players on the European and regional film scene through masterclasses, workshops, panels and meetings of film professionals, creating space for the development of new projects, co-productions and international collaboration. Montenegrin projects in development and post-production will be presented through pitching sessions and one-on-one meetings with visiting producers, funds and festival representatives.
“In three years, Montenegro Film Rendezvous has grown from a three-day industry meeting into a seven-day programme. That is the best indicator of how much interest has increased. Alongside the traditional presentations of new Montenegrin projects, this year we are opening cooperation with producers and filmmakers from francophone countries for the first time. We are also organising a workshop for female filmmakers, and as a new member of the RE-ACT initiative we will host an EAVE on Demand workshop. To our guests, producers and film professionals from all over the world we will also present the new amendments to the Law on Cinematography, which recently entered into force and make Montenegro a more competitive destination for international productions,” said Aleksandra Božović, Director of the Film Centre of Montenegro.
This year’s edition is led by prominent names of the international film scene.
Manuel Alberto Claro, one of Europe’s most respected directors of photography, whose latest film Dom (Home), directed by Marijana Jancovic, will open the 39th Herceg Novi Film Festival, will hold a masterclass devoted to contemporary film language and visual storytelling.
Nina Hartstone, winner of the Academy Award for sound editing on Bohemian Rhapsody, will speak about the creative process of shaping film sound, while the programme will also feature the authors of the Montenegrin documentary To Hold a Mountain, awarded at the Sundance Film Festival, Biljana Tutorov and Petar Glomazić, who will present a case study of the film’s journey from Sinjajevina to Sundance.
A special segment of the programme is the MEDIA TV Series Programme, dedicated to the development of scripted television series and regional co-productions. Panels and masterclasses will bring together representatives of regional broadcasters, telecom companies, production companies and European experts, and will be open to the public, giving professionals, students and all those interested the opportunity to take part in conversations about the development and the future of television content.
An important part of Montenegro Film Rendezvous is dedicated to the development of new talent and the creation of a more inclusive film industry. The Female Filmmakers Workshop, which the Film Centre of Montenegro is running in partnership with the French Embassy and the French Institute in Montenegro, focuses on empowering women and increasing their representation in the film industry.
The programme also includes the regional acting workshop ReActing+, a new module of the ReActing as a Star programme, supported by the British Council. The workshop brings together talented young actors from the region and offers them space for professional development, exchange of experience and networking.
In cooperation with the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), the New African Voices programme will also be presented, through which audiences will have the opportunity to discover projects in development, as well as films by distinguished directors and producers from francophone countries.
Within the RE-ACT programme, which Montenegro joined this year, an EAVE on Demand RE-ACT workshop will also be held.
During Montenegro Film Rendezvous, film content of particular significance will be presented as well, including a screening of the Greek-Montenegrin co-production Life in a Beat, the promotion of the monograph of the Film Centre of Montenegro and the Montenegrin premiere of the film Black Trumpet.
Montenegro Film Rendezvous is organised in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Media, the Municipality of Herceg Novi and JUK Herceg Fest, which is also the producer of the Herceg Novi Film Festival – Montenegro Film Festival.
This year’s edition is also organised in cooperation with the Embassy of France in Montenegro, the French Institute in Montenegro, the British Council and the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF).

Filmski centar Crne Gore organizuje treće izdanje industrijskog programa Montenegro Film Rendezvous, koje će od 22. avgusta u Herceg Novom okupiti istaknute filmske autore i profesionalce, predstavnike nacionalnih filmskih centara, evropskih fondova, festivala i vodećih organizacija iz oblasti filma i audiovizuelne industrije. Međunarodni industrijski program realizuje se u okviru 39. Filmskog festivala Herceg Novi. Program će povezati crnogorsku kinematografiju sa relevantnim akterima evropske i regionalne filmske scene kroz masterclass predavanja, radionice, panele i susrete filmskih profesionalaca, stvarajući prostor za razvoj novih projekata, koprodukcija i međunarodne saradnje. Crnogorski projekti u razvoju i postprodukciji biće predstavljeni kroz pitching sesije i pojedinačne sastanke sa gostujućim producentima, fondovima i predstavnicima festivala. „Montenegro Film Rendezvous je za tri godine od trodnevnog industrijskog susreta prerastao u sedmodnevni program. To je najbolji pokazatelj koliko je interesovanje poraslo. Pored tradicionalnih predstavljanja novih crnogorskih projekata, ove godine po prvi put otvaramo saradnju sa producentima i autorima iz frankofonih zemalja. Takođe organizujemo radionicu za filmske autorke, a kao nova članica RE-ACT inicijative ugostićemo i EAVE on Demand radionicu. Gostima, producentima i filmskim profesionalcima iz cijelog svijeta predstavićemo i nove izmjene Zakona o kinematografiji, koje su nedavno stupile na snagu i koje Crnu Goru čine konkurentnijom destinacijom za međunarodne produkcije“, kazala je Aleksandra Božović, direktorica Filmskog centra Crne Gore. Ovogodišnje izdanje predvode istaknuta imena međunarodne filmske scene. Manuel Alberto Klaro, jedan od najcjenjenijih evropskih direktora fotografije, čiji će posljednji film „Dom“ u režiji Marijane Janković otvoriti 39. Filmski festival Herceg Novi, održaće masterclass posvećen savremenom filmskom jeziku i vizuelnom pripovijedanju. Nina Hartston, dobitnica Oskara za montažu zvuka za film „Bohemian Rhapsody“, govoriće o kreativnom procesu oblikovanja filmskog zvuka, dok će u programu učestvovati autori crnogorskog dokumentarnog filma „Planina“, nagrađenog na festivalu Sandens, Biljana Tutorov i Petar Glomazić, koji će predstaviti studiju slučaja o putu filma od Sinjajevine do Sandensa. Poseban segment programa predstavlja MEDIA TV Series Programme, posvećen razvoju igranih televizijskih serija i regionalnim koprodukcijama. Paneli i masterclass predavanja okupiće predstavnike regionalnih televizija, telekom kompanija, produkcijskih kuća i evropske stručnjake, a biće otvoreni za javnost, pružajući priliku profesionalcima, studentima i svim zainteresovanima da učestvuju u razgovorima o razvoju i budućnosti televizijskog sadržaja. Važan dio Montenegro Film Rendezvousa posvećen je i razvoju novih talenata i stvaranju inkluzivnije filmske industrije. U okviru programa RE-ACT, kojem se Crna Gora pridružila ove godine, biće održana i EAVE on Demand RE-ACT radionica. Tokom trajanja Montenegro Film Rendezvousa biće predstavljeni i filmski sadržaji od posebnog značaja, među kojima su projekcija grčko-crnogorske koprodukcije „Life in a Beat“, promocija monografije Filmskog centra Crne Gore i crnogorska premijera filma „Crna truba“. Montenegro Film Rendezvous realizuje se u partnerstvu sa Ministarstvom kulture i medija, Opštinom Herceg Novi i JUK Herceg Fest, koja je ujedno i producent Filmskog festivala Herceg Novi – Montenegro Film Festivala. Takođe, ovogodišnje izdanje se organizuje u saradnji sa ambasadom Francuske u Crnoj Gori, Francuskim institutom u Crnoj Gori, Britanskim savjetom i Međunarodnom organizacijom frankofonije (Organisation internationale de la Francophonie, OIF). Montenegro Film Rendezvous održava se od 22. do 28. avgusta 2026. godine u Herceg Novom, u okviru 39. Filmskog festivala Herceg Novi.
