BIOGRAPHY

Hanis Bagashov, born in North Macedonia, studied film directing at NATFA in Sofia. He is an alumnus of Berlinale Talents (Directors Summit 2020 & Script Station 2022), Sarajevo Talents, LIM – Less is More (Le Groupe Ouest), European Short Pitch (First Prize winner), First Films First (Goethe-Institut), and IDFAcademy. In 2025, he served on the European Stories jury at FIPADOC. His short film Mishko premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival 2018, while his most recent short, The Rabbit is Dead, premiered at Dokufest 2025. As an actor, Bagashov has played leading roles in When the Day Had No Name by Teona Strugar Mitevska (Berlinale 2017) and Sisterhood by Dina Duma (Karlovy Vary 2021; Netflix release). Beyond film, his photography has been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje. Bagashov works as the programmer of the Student Competition section at the International Cinematographers Film Festival Manaki Brothers. He is the founder of the production company Hithra Films.

Hanis Bagashov, rođen u Sjevernoj Makedoniji, studirao je filmsku režiju na NATFA akademiji u Sofiji. Alumnista je programa Berlinale Talents (Directors Summit 2020 i Script Station 2022), Sarajevo Talents, LIM – Less is More (Le Groupe Ouest), European Short Pitch (prva nagrada), First Films First (Goethe-Institut) i IDFAcademy. Godine 2025. bio je član žirija European Stories na festivalu FIPADOC. Njegov kratki film Mishko premijerno je prikazan na Sarajevo Film Festivalu 2018, dok je najnoviji kratki film The Rabbit is Dead premijerno prikazan na Dokufestu 2025. Kao glumac, tumačio je glavne uloge u filmovima Kada dan nije imao ime, r. Teone Strugar Mitevske (Berlinale 2017) i Sestrinstvo, r. Dine Duma (Karlove Vari 2021; Netflix distribucija). Pored filmskog rada, njegova fotografija bila je izložena u Muzeju savremene umjetnosti u Skoplju. Bagashov je selektor studentskog takmičarskog programa na Međunarodnom festivalu kamere Braća Manaki, a osnivač je produkcijske kuće Hithra Films.
