When architect Vuk returns to his native Montenegrin village to begin building a luxury eco-resort, his wife Claire starts to suspect that a crime is behind the tragic death of a local resident – the search for truth uncovers a web of silence the community protects at all costs.

Vuk (40), a successful architect living in France, returns to Montenegro with his wife Claire (40), a French writer, and their six-year-old son Daniel. Their return is driven by an ambitious plan to build a luxury eco-resort in Vuk's ancestral village, surrounded by untouched nature. They are welcomed with hospitality and gratitude, something all the villagers make a point of showing at every opportunity. However, a bear has come down from the mountains into the village, causing damage and fear, prompting the entire community to rally in an effort to capture or kill it. When Mato, their elderly neighbor, is found dead in the forest, forensic evidence and the gruesome injuries point to a bear attack. But after a cryptic statement from Vuk to the police, Claire begins to have doubts. Her interest in Mato's death and the alleged bear attack grows as she encounters inconsistencies in Vuk's responses. Meanwhile, she discovers that Daniel, while playing with his AR game, has captured footage from the forest that might contain clues related to the murder. Claire dives deeper into the investigation, connecting details others seem reluctant to acknowledge. Bears are dangerous when hungry; however, Mato was a long-time convict guilty of the worst crimes, and his death brings a sense of relief to many. As Claire is increasingly provoked by denial and secrecy, Vuk struggles to maintain balance while juggling Daniel's fragile health, his wife's foreign standards and values, and the pressure of his professional ambitions. Vuk's father Obren, a former judge and once-respected figure in the village, tries to silence the story to protect the family's reputation and the community's peace. His intervention, though well-meaning, ends tragically.

Njeno interesovanje za Matovu smrt i navodni napad raste dok nailazi na nedosljednosti u Vukovim odgovorima. U međuvremenu, otkriva da je Danijel, igrajući se AR igricom, snimio kadrove iz šume koji možda kriju tragove ubistva. Kler sve dublje ulazi u istragu, povezujući detalje koje drugi izbjegavaju da priznaju. Medvjedi jesu opasni kad su gladni, ali Mato je bio višestruki prestupnik kriv za najgore zločine, pa njegova smrt mnogima donosi olakšanje.
