BIOGRAPHY

Mladen Ivanović was born in 1987 in Podgorica. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Cetinje, and in 2023, he will graduate from the Master's program at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb, specializing in Documentary Film under the mentorship of Professor Goran Dević. In 2021, he completed the Restart Documentary Film School. He has directed several short and one medium-length documentary films, as well as a number of music videos and television commercials. His debut film, Between the River and the People, won the Best Debut Film award at BaNFF (Balkan New Film Festival) held in Stockholm, Sweden. He won the mini-pitch program at the Herceg Novi Film Festival with his short fiction film The Observer. Currently, he is developing a feature-length documentary titled The Rear Admiral, which has been featured in several script development workshops such as Beldocs Academy and DOK Serbia, where it won the Best Project in Development award in 2019. This award included participation in the co-production market at the DOK Leipzig festival. He is in the post-production phase of a film tentatively titled Petrova Gora, which focuses on one of the most significant modernist monuments in the former Yugoslavia, created by Vojin Bakić. Since 2015, he has been working as a psychotherapist in training in the modality of Transactional Analysis, conducting numerous workshops and therapeutic groups. He currently resides in Zagreb.
