BIOGRAPHY

Mladen Ivanović was born in 1987 in Podgorica, Montenegro. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Cetinje and earned a Master's degree in Documentary Film Directing from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. His debut documentary, In Between (2015), won the award for Best Debut Film at the Balkan New Film Festival in Stockholm. He is currently in post-production of the feature-length documentary The Rear Admiral, which explores the life and death of Krsto Đurović, a Yugoslav rear admiral who died under mysterious circumstances during the Yugoslav Wars after refusing to participate in the shelling of Dubrovnik. His documentary Monument of the Revolution (2026), dedicated to one of the most important modernist monuments of the former Yugoslavia, designed by Vojin Bakić, premieres this year at UnderhillFest and Liburnia Film Fest. Ivanović is the founder and director of Kino Klub Podgorica.

Mladen Ivanović rođen je 1987. godine u Podgorici. Osnovne studije završio je na Fakultetu dramskih umjetnosti na Cetinju, a magistrirao režiju dokumentarnog filma na Akademiji dramske umjetnosti u Zagrebu. Njegov debitantski dokumentarni film Između (2015) osvojio je nagradu za najbolji debitantski film na Balkan New Film Festivalu u Stokholmu. Trenutno je u postprodukciji dugometražnog dokumentarnog filma Kontraadmiral, koji istražuje život i smrt Krsta Đurovića, jugoslovenskog kontraadmirala koji je poginuo pod misterioznim okolnostima tokom ratova u Jugoslaviji, nakon što je odbio da učestvuje u granatiranju Dubrovnika. Njegov dokumentarni film Spomenik revolucije (2026), posvećen jednom od najznačajnijih modernističkih spomenika bivše Jugoslavije, djelu Vojina Bakića, ove godine ima crnogorsku premijeru na UnderhillFestu i hrvatsku na Liburnia Film Festu. Ivanović je osnivač i direktor Kino Kluba Podgorica.
