Nikola Vukčević is an award-winning film director, Full Professor of Film Directing and Head of the Film & Media Department at FDA Cetinje, University of Montenegro. His directing portfolio spans around 70 projects across film, TV, advertising and theatre. He has directed three feature fiction films, two of which were selected as Montenegro's official Academy Award entries: A View from the Eiffel Tower (2005) and The Kids from the Marx and Engels Street (2014), alongside OBRAZ / The Tower of Strength (2024), which was selected for over 30 international festivals (including Cairo, IFFI Goa, Palm Springs), won over 20 international awards and earned him Montenegro's highest state honour, the Thirteenth of July Award, in 2026. Former Artistic Director of the City Theatre Podgorica (2003–2010), President of the Council of the Montenegro Film Festival (2020–2022) and US IVLP Fulbright alumnus (2017), he holds a PhD on Ingmar Bergman's poetics (2010). Montenegro Star marks his feature documentary debut.

Nikola Vukčević je nagrađivani filmski reditelj, redovni profesor filmske režije i šef Odsjeka za film i medije na FDU Cetinje, Univerziteta Crne Gore. Njegov rediteljski opus obuhvata oko 70 projekata u oblasti filma, televizije, reklame i pozorišta. Režirao je tri dugometražna igrana filma, od kojih su dva bila zvanični crnogorski kandidati za Oskara: Pogled sa Ajfelovog tornja (2005) i Neko me ipak čeka (2014), uz OBRAZ (2024), koji je prikazan na više od 30 međunarodnih festivala (Kairo, IFFI Goa, Palm Springs), osvojio više od 20 međunarodnih nagrada i donio mu najviše državno priznanje, Trinaestojulsku nagradu, 2026. godine. Bivši umjetnički direktor Gradskog pozorišta Podgorica (2003–2010), predsjednik Savjeta Crnogorskog filmskog festivala (2020–2022) i alumnista američkog IVLP Fulbright programa (2017), doktorirao je 2010. godine na poetici Ingmara Bergmana. Montenegro Star je njegov prvi dugometražni dokumentarni film.
