Synopsis:
Veselin (58) and Svjetlana (18) live in the remote mountains of Montenegro, near Plužine, a small town on the edge of Lake Piva, which was rebuilt in the seventies after the old town was flooded in the name of 'progress'. Following the construction of a dam, the remains of old Plužine lie deep below the man-made lake, like a ghost-town. While Veselin performs his dramatic laments at funerals, his daughter Svjetlana is recording singing and dancing videos, which she posts on social media. After a series of disagreements with Veselin about her future, Svjetlana successfully auditions for a talent show, where she befriends one of the contestants, Barbara, who grew up in an immigrant family in Austria, but has returned to the region after much trouble at home. The two of them will try out as a rap act and achieve a huge success thanks to their ethnic-exotic style. Meanwhile, things are not going well for Veselin - he is about to lose his job after an incident in the classroom and he has fallen out with his younger brother Božidar, who lives in the city and works for a 'friendly company' providing loans to small businesses. As the autumn approaches, the two young women drift apart, and Veselin's illness draws Svjetlana closer to her father, who comes face to face with his own mortality.
