Synopsis:
Vuk Vučinić (36), a successful architect living in France, returns to Montenegro with his wife Claire (35), a French writer, and their six-year-old son Daniel. Their return is driven by an ambitious plan: to build a luxury eco-resort in the untouched nature surrounding Vuk's native village. They are welcomed with warmth and gratitude. Yet a bear has descended into the village, posing a threat and causing damage, prompting the entire community to mobilize in an effort to hunt it down. When Mato Božović is found dead in the forest, forensic evidence and the horrific nature of his wounds lead investigators to conclude that he was killed in a bear attack. However, after hearing Vuk's statement to the police, Claire suddenly begins to doubt the official version of events. Her interest intensifies as she encounters inconsistencies and silence in Vuk's answers. Meanwhile, she discovers that Daniel, through his AR game, has recorded footage in the forest containing details potentially linked to the killing. Claire is drawn deeper into the investigation, connecting fragments others seem unwilling to notice. As she becomes increasingly provoked by denial and silence, Vuk struggles to balance his private life with his professional ambitions. His father Obren, a professor of criminal law and once a respected authority figure, attempts to suppress the story in order to protect the family's reputation and the stability of the village. His intervention, though well intentioned, ends in tragedy.
