Synopsis:
Ksenija (25), student of architecture, during hot summer days in Podgorica, Montenegro is expecting a baby with her husband Ljubo (30). They live in the Montenegrin capital with his two aunts, Lidija (60) and Seka (55). Lidija and Seka under Lidija’s strong influence, strictly control Ksenija’s pregnancy. Ksenija fights back, but without success. When Ksenija gives birth, the pressure intensifies. Ksenija’s anxious subconscious intensifies and she can’t produce milk, or connect with the baby. Aunts decide to take the situation and Ljubo in their control. The three squeeze out the milk from Ksenija using force. In order to redeem themselves, they go to visit Ksenija's biological family, mother Olga (55) and brother Brajan (22). Ksenija is in a great mood and Ljubo, angry at his situation in life, after Olga provokes him, stabs himself with a spoon. In Ljubo’s apartment, Ljubo and Ksenija are finally alone. Ksenija rejects sex with Ljubo, which provokes violence and aggression in him. The baby and Ksenija are on the floor. Ksenija finally connects with the baby. Searching for a way out, she jumps off the fifth floor. But she doesn’t jump alone. She survives. Ending up in the hospital, her perfect spine awakens fascination in her Doctor. Doctor doesn’t succeed in protecting her against the law. She ends up in prison, then psych ward. She is freed under the diagnosis of post natal depression. During the winter, Ksenija goes to her family. She is forcing herself to be rational, gets a divorce and is finishing her studies. Olga says that she always knew Ljubo was specific. Brajan is back home with her girlfriend Tanja (22). He took from Ksenija her favorite retro computer. Looking for Olga in the house, Ksenija finds in the attic worrisome museum of memories of Ksenija’s father and watches videos of her childhood. It provokes her to throw the computer out of the house. Olga is busy talking with Tanja. Tanja has news, Brajan doesn’t know that Olga knows. Ksenija, in front of her family’s house, finds her neatly packed up things. Alone, she continues to exist.
